Empowering People Living with IBD through Insight and Support
As the design lead on this global initiative, I directed a cross-disciplinary team focused on improving the lives of people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Our mission was to create a digital solution that complemented Takeda’s Entyvio therapy by offering patients meaningful insights, emotional support, and greater control in managing their condition.
IBD often disrupts daily life with unpredictable flares, leaving patients uncertain about their triggers and treatment progress. Partnering closely with Dr. Ghosh — creator of a patient-reported outcome tool — we set out to design an experience that would empower people to better understand their condition, track symptoms, and make informed decisions about their care.
Working hand-in-hand with both Dr. Ghosh and individuals living with IBD through co-design sessions and user testing, we developed an app that was met with heartfelt enthusiasm. Patients described it as “a huge help,” expressing relief at finally having a tool that could guide them with confidence through their daily lives.
Throughout the project, I worked across global product teams, aligning stakeholders in multiple regions to ensure the solution could scale internationally. We launched in the Nordics first, with expansion into additional countries underway. To enable both speed and consistency, I led the creation and implementation of a global design system — ensuring a cohesive, brand-agnostic user experience and visual design language that felt sleek, approachable, and empowering across all markets.
The final product not only brought tangible value to people navigating the complexities of IBD but also strengthened Entyvio’s patient value proposition in a highly competitive therapeutic landscape.
